Okay, if the student housing comes through it means that we can't have a dog, which is boo hoo for me. But if that happens, I can spend all the money we're saving on housing and make one of these. It's a palace for cute little hamsters! Go here to see more pics, including some with the little guys.

If I were you, I'd start collecting New Yorker hamster cartoons right now. They are a favorite of mine. They have this whole repetition thing . . . they all use hamster wheel jokes, and the wheel is a symbol of repetition itself . . . very satisfying.
But, then, it seems like your castle goes in a whole other direction.
