A question for Slate

why were so few women included in your year in review?

why are so few women on their staff? why are so many white male intellectuals so difficult to like? i think all of these questions have similar answers.

it's interesting that you pointed that out, because I swear the first time I read that article the other day Dana Stevens was not here. It ended with the paragraph about Murderball. I know they can edit their stories after they're published and maybe Miss Stevens just missed the deadline? Who knows, but still, I would expect more from Slate.

I download the Slate podcasts and I would have expected them to be more diverse in their "best of" post. Good eye.

While we're at it...has anybody listened to the podcast about Larry David as the 21st century Jane Austen? I didn't wholly agree with it, but I thought the article was very smart.
