goodbye mac guy

Perhaps for striking people as a "smug little twit," in the words of Seth Stevenson, ad critic for Slate. Long, he adds, is "just the sort of unshaven, hoodie-wearing, hands-in-pockets hipster we've always imagined when picturing a Mac enthusiast.... It's like Apple is parodying its own image while also cementing it."

as long as they're keeping hodgman, i don't even care what the new ads look like. in all honesty, i didn't loathe mac boy with the same intensity as others appear to have evidenced, but i can't say that i'll miss him, either. he was just stealing valuable seconds away from the hodg-man's tweedy, on-air yumminess.
